“Sorry guys, these lots are not for you”–‘Home’Section (Pg B1)

Q1:
What were some of the reasons cited in the article why there was a need to have parking lots for women only in these buildings?

A1:
One of the reasons is to help women with young children to load and unload bulky prams more easily. The other reasons are the location of the carpark is convient and they only have to walk up the ramp to reach the entrance to the lobby. Another reason is it is less tiring for women, espically when they are in heels.Another reason is some women feel safer parking nearer to the entrance.

Q2:
(a) In your opinion, do you think it is necessary to allocate parking lots for women only? Why?
(b) Which group of people do you then feel should be allocated such priority parking? Explain.

A2:
(a) In my opinion, i think that it is not necessary to allocate parking lots for women as some times when the other car lots are full and the reserved lots for women are empty, people will also tends to park in the lot so it is very difficult for them to control who will park in the lot.

(b) I think that the priority parking should be allocated to the disabled people and the elderly drivers as the elderly may have difficulty to find parking lots if they park their car at the fifth storey, some of them do not have the energy to climb to the entrance. For the disabled people, they would not have difficulty to walk to the entrance.

(b) What are some problems you face as a student which adds to your stress level?

A1:

(a)It is quite stressful as a student in Singapore as we have many subject to study and many tests are given to us. Our parents and teachers will also have high hopes of us getting good result, we do not want to let our parents down so we study very hard to et their targets. Singapore student likes to compare their marks with people which make them more stress. For example, if you lose to your friends, you wil tried to study hard to get a better result. In order to get better job in future, we must study extremely hard. All these causes the result of our stress.

(b)The problems I faced was when the exams and tests are very near, i will feel very stress as i wanted to score well for all my subject and not do it badly. Sometimes, the topic of the subject is already very confused but the teacher did more confusion to it by skipping a lot of steps that make me more stress as if the question appeared in exam, i will be stuck at the question and at the same time lose marks for it. Now that my school and CCA end late, i need to stay up late at night to study and wake up early in the morning which make me lesser time to relax but more stress.
